Car Insurance Volkswagen (Car Insurance). my subwoofer is making a slapping noise at certain points?my subwoofer is making a slapping noise at certain points? now, my fusion active bass tube is making a funny noise. when its playing continuous frequencys it sounds fine. just bass =D but when it plays a sound like a bass drum kick or something it makes a slapping noise but only when you are not staaring it square on in the face, when you stand up it makes this noise. i dont know what it is, but its getting on my nerves, and it not on loud at all, its on quiet, in my house. with people in. its not over powered. it has a bass level for the amp and a low passive filter settings. if this helps cheers, jack Check by looking at the sub when the sound happens, is the sub moving excessively? If so turn down the settings on the amp to adjust the movement caused. If not then check that there is nothing touching the inside or outside of the sub as this could be causing the noise. It needs replacing. It's being driven too hard, so when the bass peaks it pushes the cone out too far and is abruptly pulled back making that slapping sound. Get the spec of your systems amp and buy a suitable speaker to replace it with. Auto parts : Light Control Module Acura 1995 . Mirror Alfa Romeo 1996 . Mirror Glass Audi 1997 . This morning I was driving my girlfriend to work and the check engine light came on. Took it to the auto parts store to get it scanned and it gave me a code of "P0440 Evaporative Emissions System". I texted "ChaCha" and asked them how to fix the problem. They answered back and said "Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back. This should fix the problem". To me it seems like that fix wouldn't work but I was wondering if that's true? If not, how do I fix the problem? Volkswagen . What Is a Block Sheave Size?Sheaves and blocks are two parts of a pulley used to reduce the total amount of work that needs to be exerted. The two measures of these parts affect each other so their measurements are often listed together as one figure when referring to the block sheave size. Definition The term "block sheave size" refers to a compiled list of the two sizes of standard parts of a pulley: The block and the sheave. Uses Block sheaves are used in a pulley to divide a rope into multiple segments in order to shorten it. Doing so reduces the total amount of force needed to lift or move an object. Determining Size Block sheave size is determined by the weight of the object being moved and the length, width and material of the rope used in the pulley system. Example A standard block sheave size may appear as: 4", 1. In this case 4" refers to the diameter of the sheave, and 1 describes the number of blocks. They are often listed along with figures such as the diameter or the rope and the weight of the total load to be lifted since these figures also affect the block and sheave size.

* Brake fluid will squirt out. (Duck!) If there's air in your brake lines, air bubbles will be in the fluid. Seeing these bubbles is easiest if you're using the hose-in-the-jar method, but you can also see them without it. 7. Before your friend releases the brake pedal, tighten the bleeder screw. If you don't, air is sucked back into the brake lines when the pedal is released. 8. Tell your friend to release the pedal, and listen for "Up." Then repeat the whole loosening and tightening sequence again and again until no more air bubbles come out with the fluid. 9. Now, that isn't fatal — it simply means that you have to go back and bleed your master cylinder until you suck the air out of that end of the system — but who needs the extra work? If you goof and have to bleed the master cylinder, it's the same deal as bleeding your brakes (friend and all). Just bleed it at the point where the brake lines attach to the cylinder, or at the master cylinder bleeder nozzle, if you have one (see Figure 18-16). 10. Repeat these steps with each brake until the air is out of each brake line, remembering to add brake fluid to the master cylinder after you bleed each brake. 11. Volkswagen . * After you finish the job and bring the brake fluid level in the master cylinder back to "Full" for the last time, drive the vehicle around the block. The brake pedal should no longer feel spongy when you depress it. If it does, check the master cylinder again to be sure that it's full and try bleeding the brakes one more time (this situation isn't unusual, and it doesn't take as long as it sounds). If you know that no air is left in the lines and the brakes still don't feel right, you may need a new master cylinder. You should definitely consider installing it yourself — at an auto class. All it involves is disconnecting the old master cylinder (a bolt or two and the hoses leading to the brake lines), removing it without spilling brake fluid on anything painted, installing the new one, filling it with brake fluid, and bleeding it. If the job seems like too much of a hassle, have a professional do the work. You shouldn't have to pay for much labor, and if you choose a brake shop wisely, the whole deal shouldn't cost too much. Whatever you do, just be sure that, when the job is finished, they (or you) bleed the brakes and the master cylinder to get all the air out of the lines. .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings !?
